During the C&G Preparatory Advancement Phase clients are positioned to enter the world of government contracting. This introductory phase expands a business’s core knowledge through education, registrations, resources, strategies, and procurement support. When complete, clients are positioned, prepared, and understand the fundamental concepts to implement to build long term prosperous relationships, find targeted contracts, and to begin their journey towards increased revenue through government opportunities.
The SGCR team follows a detailed government marketing plan with each client. Throughout your journey you will always know what’s next, whom you will be working with, your responsibilities, and when our next meeting is scheduled.

I’m Jason “Jay the Contract Guy”, and I wanted to personally welcome you to the C&G Preparatory Advancement Phase. We are now partners with one goal in mind, helping you increase revenue through building relationships and attaining prosperous contracts. Below I will break down each of the key components of the program and answer a few of the questions I receive most. My team is excited to work with you and we look forward to the challenge of helping you advance your business into the world of Government contracting.
C&G PREP – Commercial and Government Preparatory Advancement Phase
The Commercial and Government Preparatory Advancement Phase (C&G PAP) provides the fundamental marketing concepts, knowledge, and services that a business must implement to succeed within the federal sector. Most companies are lost or misguided on not only what elements are imperative to implement, but also the question of what tools, steps, resources, and strategies are most effective. Select GCR is eager to hold your hand and guide you through your introduction to marketing and building relationships with government buyers and prime contractors.
Select GCR helps small businesses succeed in the government sector where so many others have failed. We have learned some simple, painless, and predictable ways of tapping into the government money flow, and we look forward to sharing these techniques, knowledge, and concepts with you.
The C&G PREP M2M
(Month to Month)
- Program allows clients to make a monthly investment for ongoing training and services.
- Each step of the C&G PAP is designed to be completed within a one-month period.
- Each client must participate for SGCR to stay on the defined schedule.
- Each Step will be documented via email and in the SGCRP Dashboard for client records. This program is not defined by completed steps.
The 12 Weeks of C&G PREP:
Week 1: Onboarding with SGCR
- Expand NAICS/PSC Codes: Review and expand the relevant industry classification codes to ensure comprehensive alignment with your business offerings and contracting opportunities.
- Confirm SAM Updates/Changes: Verify updates to your System for Award Management (SAM) profile to ensure accuracy and readiness for federal opportunities.
- Provide Capabilities Form and Examples: Our team will send you a fillable form along with examples to serve as a guide for presenting your business effectively on your Capabilities Statement (Government resume).
Week 2: Laying the Foundation
- Collect Final Data for the Capabilities Statement: Finalize the details necessary for our team to create a polished and professional representation of your business’s strengths and services.
- Confirm SAM Completion: Double-check that all SAM registrations are in progress and are in the final stages of completion/completed.
- Introduce SGCR Training & Resources: You will be presented a suite of training and resource options tailored to your needs, including guides for navigating government contracting.
- Provide and Discuss the Intake Form: Our team will send you the Client intake form, designed to collect key business data. We will discuss its significance for your registration and strategy moving forward.
Week 3: Building Your Platform
- Collect Final Data for the Intake Form: Finalize all required business information, ensuring accuracy for registrations and applications.
- Discuss Training Topics: Begin a tailored discussion to identify the most beneficial training areas for your business.
- Initiate Registrations for Grants.gov, Municipality, and State Platforms: Start the process of registering your business across federal, state, and municipal platforms for grant and contract opportunities.
Week 4: Milestone Delivery
- No Scheduled Meeting: This week will be used to review progress and prepare for next steps.
- Deliver the Completed Capabilities Statement: You will be provide a polished, professional Capabilities Statement, ready for distribution to agencies and contracting officers.
- Capabilities Website: A hosted site with your capability statement will begin getting created by our team. You will receive communication on hosting details and any information that will be needed on your side.
Week 5: Expanding Opportunities
- Review Grant and Contract Emails Received from Registrations: We will go over all communication received as a result of your recent registrations to identify actionable opportunities.
- Discuss Training Topics: Continue exploring training topics
- Initiate Department/Agency Registrations: Our team will Begin registering your business with specific federal departments or agencies that align with your goals.

- Deliver the Completed Government Capabilities Website: You will receive your customized capabilities website designed to enhance your government contracting presence.
- Complete and Optimize the DSBS Profile: Finalize your Dynamic Small Business Search (DSBS) profile to maximize visibility and appeal to contracting officers.

Week 10: Insights and Messaging
- No Scheduled Meeting: Focus on reviewing deliverables and preparing for the next phase.
- Provide the Business Analysis Report: Our team will provide you with a detailed report analyzing your business’s performance and potential within government contracting.
- Share Email Messaging and Schedule Upcoming Email Campaigns: You will be provided the professional email templates and outreach plan for email campaigns to engage with government agencies and partners.
Week 11: Advanced Training and Strategy
- Discuss the Business Analysis Report: Dive into the findings of your analysis report, identifying areas of strength and improvement.
- Introduce RFIs (Requests for Information) in Select GCR Pro: Learn how to leverage RFIs to gather critical insights and improve your proposals.
- Review Registration and Certification Options and Contract Training: Explore additional registration, certification options, and advanced contract training opportunities.
Week 12: Preparing for the Next Phase
- Conclude the C&G Preparatory Accelerate Phase: Wrap up this phase by reviewing all progress and accomplishments with our team.
- Discuss Options for Continuing with SGCR’s Services or Transitioning Independently: Evaluate your readiness to manage government contracting independently or continue leveraging SGCR’s expertise for further growth
C&G PAP Program – Final Overview:
C&G Preparatory Advancement Phase: 12 Weeks. During this phase 7 one-hour Personalized Meetings are Scheduled, Informative Topic Emails are sent, and the following Services are Completed:

- Search, Find & Export Gov Prime Contacts for Outbound Email Campaign. Create Messaging, Provide Contacts, Phone Script & Elevator Pitch.
- Create profile to receive Targeted State Contracts that match your Capabilities
- Provide Access to the SGCRP program: Access 1.2 million Government & Business contacts, plus Local, State, and Federal Contracts (past, present, & future)
*The following submissions are the responsibility of the C&GMP client. SGCR will provide each client with the Instructions, Knowledge, Lists & Templates to complete these tasks.
